Residential complex architecture
The house was built according to an individual project by architects N. A. Khohryakov and M. N. Kurochkin in 1952 for the employees of the Hydrometeorological Service. The building features characteristic corner bay windows and balconies on the third floor, adorned with stucco decorations. The two upper floors are designed with pilasters, with window openings in between, topped by small pediments. For a long time, the writer Sergey Mikhalkov lived in this house, and a monument to him is located in the nearby square on Povarskaya Street. His children, Andrey and Nikita, famous film directors, also spent their youth here.
The building has reinforced concrete floors. In 2020, the facade was renovated while preserving its architectural appearance. The brick 7-story complex consists of 8 entrances. A total of 70 apartments are provided, each with 3.0-meter ceilings. There are two apartments on each floor. For car owners, parking is organized in the courtyard with a barrier.
