How to obtain Turkish citizenship?

One of the ways to obtain Turkish citizenship is to buy property. In May 2022, Russians purchased 1,275 houses and apartments, taking the first place among foreign investors in real estate, surpassing Iran and Iraq. In 2021, a record number of properties were purchased (5,400). This is the highest level since 2015 (2,000 transactions).

Such an increase in interest has led to a rise in property prices, so the government decided to regulate the issue and make changes to the legislation. In April 2022, Turkey increased the minimum investment threshold for the citizenship program by 60%. It is now $400,000 compared to the previous $250,000. Kalinka Group experts explained how to obtain Turkish citizenship.

Advantages of moving to Turkey

  • Second citizenship. You don't have to choose between Russian and Turkish citizenship. You don't need to renounce your Russian passport.
  • Easy adaptation. There are many Russian speakers in the country, so there are no communication problems.
  • Citizenship for the whole family. Not only the investor, but also their relatives can apply for citizenship.
  • Equality. Migrants have the same rights and benefits as native residents of the country.
  • More opportunities in tourism. Turkish passport holders can visit other countries without a visa.

The process of obtaining citizenship has nuances, but it is easier than in many other countries.
