One of the ways to obtain Turkish citizenship is to buy property. In May 2022, Russians purchased 1,275 houses and apartments, taking the first place among foreign investors in real estate, surpassing Iran and Iraq. In 2021, a record number of properties were purchased (5,400). This is the highest level since 2015 (2,000 transactions).

Such an increase in interest has led to a rise in property prices, so the government decided to regulate the issue and make changes to the legislation. In April 2022, Turkey increased the minimum investment threshold for the citizenship program by 60%. It is now $400,000 compared to the previous $250,000. How to obtain citizenship: simplified methods

Russians have access to a simplified program for obtaining Turkish citizenship. We will consider different investment options.

Buying real estate

According to the new amendments to the legislation, Russians have the right to obtain Turkish citizenship by purchasing real estate worth at least $400,000. The previous minimum threshold was $250,000.

You can buy property from both legal entities and individuals. The procedure takes 3-5 months. It doesn't have to be only a new apartment or private house. The secondary market is also an option. This also includes commercial real estate (warehouses, office space, shops), including properties under construction. As for land plots, they should be up to 30 hectares and occupy up to 10% of the total area of the district.

Attention! The purchased property cannot be sold within the first 3 years after obtaining citizenship. After that, you can dispose of it at your discretion.

Application (2 copies);

Passport and birth certificate translation must be done in Turkey, and these documents should be apostilled;

Certificate of no criminal record for the applicant and family members also applying for citizenship (children under 18 years old).

Marriage certificate;

Birth certificates of children

Title deed (certificate of property purchase);
