Location: The new Netto supermarket will be built in Shieder-Schwaleberg, a district in the Lippe region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Population Growth: The population in Shieder-Schwaleberg is continuously growing, with more than 8,700 residents currently living in the municipality. This growth is largely attributed to substantial investments from Phoenix Contact, an international electronic components manufacturing company with over 15,000 employees and headquarters in the neighboring municipality of Blomberg.

Attractive Region: The region actively attracts young families due to the combination of increasing population, major investments, and the presence of educational facilities, including the company's own training center.

Previous Retail Situation: Three years ago, the only discount store in Shieder-Schwaleberg closed its doors due to the outdated building and lack of alternative premises. As a result, the municipality currently has only one long-established grocery supermarket serving a population of nearly 9,000.

Positive Outlook: Therefore, the community is looking forward to the planned arrival of Netto and is ready to provide the necessary documents for the construction of approximately 1,000 sqm of retail space on a designated plot. The project is expected to be completed in the second half of 2019.

Netto Marken-Discount AG & Co. KG: Netto Marken-Discount is a subsidiary of Edeka Zentrale AG & Co. KG, with a turnover of 12.7 billion euros. It operates around 4,170 branches and employs almost 74,100 people, making it one of the top three discount supermarket chains in Germany. Netto serves 21 million customers per week and offers the widest range of products in the discount segment, with approximately 4,000 items.
