BANNING SMOKING WILL STIMULATE DEMAND FOR HOMES WITH CIGAR ROOMS
The frenetic pace of the big city dictates its own rules to connoisseurs of aromatic tobacco: in the conditions of Moscow's hustle and bustle, modern business people seek a sense of tranquility and comfort. Cigar rooms are most often found in small apartment buildings with a club status, where all residents know each other by face and are not averse to spending an evening in each other's company.
A space for a select circle of visitors who cannot imagine their lives without cigars should be both secluded and serve a communicative function. Moscow developers spare no expense in installing special climate control devices, arranging lighting with furnishings, and security systems, in order to be able to include cigar rooms in their projects.
Designers note that a cigar room usually has an elegant and serene atmosphere. This is achieved through subdued lighting, neutral colors, and the use of environmentally friendly building materials. Designers recommend using stone that poorly absorbs smoke and natural wood as finishes. Leather sofas and armchairs, inviting for long and relaxing breaks, as well as glass or metal tables with ashtrays, humidors, and cigar accessories, are intended to complement the stylistic solution. To maintain a comfortable microclimate, developers install a supply and exhaust ventilation system with a high-quality air purifier and sound insulation.
"In luxury homes, you will never find residents smoking in the entrance or on the landing. Apartments are equipped with the latest ventilation systems, allowing smoking indoors or on the balcony without significant harm to household members and neighbors. There are not many offers on the market for apartments equipped with cigar rooms. Its presence or absence is not the most important criterion when deciding to buy a property. Perhaps developers will start additionally equipping residential complexes with cigar rooms, taking into account the smoking ban in public places. However, this will not affect the price per square meter," says Alexey Sidorov, Development Director at Kalinka Group.
