MSG Sphere - the future of entertainment projects in the Emirates

The UAE is a country of mega-projects: from the world's tallest buildings to man-made islands. It's no surprise that the next grand project is set to be the unique entertainment venue MSG Sphere, modeled after its namesake in Las Vegas. This high-tech arena, completely covered in LED screens, will be home to large-scale shows and concerts.

At the moment, the company behind the project is actively negotiating with Abu Dhabi. Originally, MSG Sphere was planned to be built in Saudi Arabia and South Korea, but implementation in these countries has been put on hold.

MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, which opened in September 2023, has already become a subject of discussion due to its massive budget - the project cost two billion dollars, exceeding the planned expenditure by one billion. The venue opened with a series of U2 concerts and a screening of Darren Aronofsky's documentary "Earth".

With the world's largest LED screen and the status of the biggest spherical building, MSG Sphere is setting new records. The arena has a capacity of up to 20,000 people, and its dome is made of 3,000 tons of steel. The structure's height is 112 meters, and its diameter is 157 meters. The exterior side is covered with a 16K resolution screen, making it unique.

Although there are already many impressive entertainment venues in the UAE, such as Etihad Arena, Coca-Cola Arena and Dubai Opera, the appearance of MSG Sphere in Abu Dhabi could raise the entertainment level to new heights. What do you think, is it worth building this innovative venue in the UAE?
