Dubai Green Spine: An Eco-Highway along the E311 route with a million planted trees, solar-powered transport, farms, and parks

Dubai is ready to implement the ambitious Dubai Green Spine project, which will transform a 64-kilometer stretch of the E311 highway, known as Sheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed Street, into a green corridor in line with the most relevant global sustainable development trends.

The project is part of the Dubai General Urban Plan until 2040 and will radically transform the concept of urban mobility, elevate environmental and social standards, anticipating the growing population of the city. Dubai Green Spine is designed by the innovative research division EPIC Lab under the leadership of Urb.

Within the Dubai Green Spine, the following are planned:

  • Planting one million trees, creating a green oasis in the heart of the metropolis.
  • Introduction of solar-powered trams, providing an environmentally friendly form of transport.
  • Creation of new parks, providing Dubai residents with new places for recreation and walking.
  • Development of farms, which will increase the city's self-sufficiency level with eco-friendly products.

Dubai Green Spine is a symbol of Dubai's commitment to sustainable development and creating a comfortable environment for residents' living and working. The project shows that even in a modern metropolis, innovation and eco-friendliness can be combined, making everyday conveniences within easy reach, contributing to the dynamics of life.
