The largest building in the world will be erected in Riyadh

In the capital of Saudi Arabia, the construction of the largest building - Mukaab, has begun. The project differs from regular skyscrapers: instead of a high-rise tower, architects have proposed a concept of a gigantic golden-colored cube, each face of which will be 400 meters. The volume of Mukaab is so great that it could accommodate 20 famous Empire State Buildings.

Mukaab will become a full-fledged multifunctional complex with the concept of "city within a city". The building will house office spaces, shopping centers, entertainment areas, a hotel with 9 thousand rooms, and more than 104 thousand residential apartments. The project provides for extensive green zones and interior designs using large LED screens.

The overall construction budget is estimated at $50 billion, and about 900 workers have been involved in the implementation. It is expected that Mukaab will be completed by 2030 and will become part of a large-scale national strategy, led by the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The strategy is aimed at diversifying the economy of Saudi Arabia, reducing dependence on the oil sector, and increasing the country's attractiveness for tourists. Among other ambitious projects of Saudi Arabia are the innovative city The Line with a length of 169 km, running on alternative energy, and the floating industrial city Oxagon.
