Velich

VELICH is a modern elite cottage complex with a highly developed infrastructure. It got its name from the majestic oaks that spread out on the edge in the center of the settlement. The surroundings of Velich are rich in cultural landmarks. In the territory of Zvenigorod, there is the Assumption Cathedral on Gorodok, one of the brightest examples of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture. Its interior walls are adorned with frescoes by the famous Andrei Rublev. Just one and a half kilometers away is another significant monument of the Moscow principality and a bulwark of Christian culture - the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, founded in 1398. The first abbot of the monastery was St. Savva Storozhevsky, a disciple of Sergius of Radonezh, and the palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich has been preserved on the monastery grounds.
