An authentic 1100 sq.m. residence is offered, located in the settlement of Khudozhniki, a monument of city planning known as a corner of country life just 9 km from the Kremlin.

The house is privately owned. A complete reconstruction of the historic English cottage by architect N.V. Markovnikov (the chief architect of the Kremlin) has been carried out, during which several buildings were added to the main house: a SPA complex, a guest block, and others.

English architects worked on the reconstruction of the house, creating a unique estate on five levels, organically incorporating the historic building into the new project and preserving the garden with a century-old maple tree and Siberian cedars. The plot is only 9 acres, but the territory is very thoughtfully planned, with every square meter of the plot utilized.

Layout of the main house:
1st floor: entrance hall, guest toilet, study, living room with a wood-burning fireplace, dining room with panoramic views of the plot and access to the terrace, kitchen.
2nd floor: 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
3rd floor: bedroom with en-suite.
Lower level: gallery with a huge open space, library, two separate offices, and a kitchen-dining room. SPA area with a 14-meter pool, jacuzzi, hammam, shower.
Basement level: multipurpose room.

Guest block (or office):
1st floor: living room with a wood-burning fireplace, study, kitchen-living room with access to the terrace.
2nd floor: study, bedroom with en-suite.

The cozy mansion was built in 1931 in the style of an English cottage and is an example of the genius of architect Markovnikov. The history of the noble Kislitsyn family, who built the house, is typical of those who did not leave Russia after the revolution and is described by Bulgakov in "The Heart of a Dog".
Escaping from overcrowding and communal life to live in one's own house outside the city among like-minded people became a matter of survival for many in Moscow in the 1920s.
Lenin died, Stalin ordered to implement Lenin's decree "The City-Garden", the civil war was ongoing, millions died of hunger, Moscow froze due to lack of firewood.
But why, unlike other houses in the settlement, was this house built carefully and grandly: high ceilings, large windows and arches, spacious bedrooms and a huge ladies' dressing room, high-quality brick and larch ceilings, a high attic.
Moreover, at that time, it was the only standalone brick house in the entire settlement, a "monument of economic construction", where many houses were tiny, built like shacks with road dust as filler, shared among several owners.
Restorers painstakingly restored centuries-old floors, arched doorways, the original central staircase, around which all common areas on the perimeter of the first floor are located.

The Artists' Village is located at the intersection of Alabyana Street and Volokolamskoye Highway, 10 minutes away from Sokol Metro Station. The village was built in 1920 and was created for prominent artists and scientists of the Soviet era. Since 1979, the cottage settlement has been under the protection of the state as a monument of urban planning from the early years of Soviet power. The streets here are named after great Russian artists such as Polenova, Surikova, Vrubel, and Levitan. Each of the 11 streets was planted with trees of a certain species: oaks on Shishkin Street, red maples on Bryullov Street, and linden trees on Surikov Street. The leading architect of the village was Markovnikov, and the project involved the Vesnins brothers, Shchusev, Kondakov, Pavlinov, and Florensky. Today, this quarter is considered a cultural heritage site. Buying or renting property in this village means becoming a part of a great history. Most of the houses in the village are modern elite mansions up to 700 square meters with well-maintained plots ranging from 8 to 16 acres. The main advantage of the Artists' Village is the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of country living while staying in Moscow. Real estate in the village is listed among the most expensive homes on Forbes' rating, along with modern deluxe mansions in Moscow, which speaks to the special prestige of this place. The sale of property in this area will only increase in value. Today, people who can afford to purchase old estates here often renovate these houses while preserving the architectural design. Inside, through extensions and basement floors, saunas, swimming pools, gyms, and billiard areas are arranged. Renting property in the Artists' Village means allowing yourself and your family to enjoy outdoor relaxation within Moscow's boundaries.
