In the near future, a high-speed passenger train will appear in the UAE, connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi, significantly reducing the travel time between the two megacities. According to Etihad Rail, thanks to the new route, the journey between the emirates will take just 30 minutes.

The modern electric train will be able to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h and will stop at six key stations, including Reem Island, Saadiyat, Yas Island, Zayed International Airport, and key points in Dubai - Al Jaddaf district and Al Maktoum International Airport.

Infrastructure preparation will begin after the completion of tenders, however, the timing of commissioning is not yet disclosed. Economists predict that this project will increase UAE's GDP by 145 billion dirhams over the next 50 years in the long term.

In addition to the high-speed route, a regular passenger train is planned to be launched, which will connect the entire territory of the UAE with the border of Oman. It will pass through picturesque regions, including the Liwa Desert and its famous oasis, and will also connect key transport hubs in Sharjah and Fujairah. In the future, with the expansion of the GCC railway network, the train will connect the UAE with other Persian Gulf countries. This train will travel at a speed of 200 km/h and accommodate up to 400 passengers.

Despite the fact that the trains are already fully equipped and ready for operation, the exact launch date remains unknown. It is expected that the new railway network will not only improve travel convenience within the country, but also become an important catalyst for economic growth, promoting the development of business and tourism.
