The Artists' Village is located at the intersection of Alabyana Street and Volokolamskoye Highway, 10 minutes away from Sokol Metro Station. The village was built in 1920 and was created for prominent artists and scientists of the Soviet era. Since 1979, the cottage settlement has been under the protection of the state as a monument of urban planning from the early years of Soviet power. The streets here are named after great Russian artists such as Polenova, Surikova, Vrubel, and Levitan. Each of the 11 streets was planted with trees of a certain species: oaks on Shishkin Street, red maples on Bryullov Street, and linden trees on Surikov Street. The leading architect of the village was Markovnikov, and the project involved the Vesnins brothers, Shchusev, Kondakov, Pavlinov, and Florensky. Today, this quarter is considered a cultural heritage site. Buying or renting property in this village means becoming a part of a great history. Most of the houses in the village are modern elite mansions up to 700 square meters with well-maintained plots ranging from 8 to 16 acres. The main advantage of the Artists' Village is the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of country living while staying in Moscow. Real estate in the village is listed among the most expensive homes on Forbes' rating, along with modern deluxe mansions in Moscow, which speaks to the special prestige of this place. The sale of property in this area will only increase in value. Today, people who can afford to purchase old estates here often renovate these houses while preserving the architectural design. Inside, through extensions and basement floors, saunas, swimming pools, gyms, and billiard areas are arranged. Renting property in the Artists' Village means allowing yourself and your family to enjoy outdoor relaxation within Moscow's boundaries.
